Workspace

Whether you work from home or a office I’m almost certain your work space is a mess. Recently I’ve cleaned my work space to the point where my co-workers asked if I was leaving. I simply removed everything I didn’t need to see or use on a daily basis. I totally understand some items you can’t remove but it’s all about organization.
The first target is cabinets/drawers because they tended to fill up first.
• Start by labeling each cabinet by what will be stored inside.
• Second start removing items one cabinet at a time and throwing out any junk. Old paper work should be filed into a folder and labeled.
• Any misc items like pens, sticky pads, paper clips, and rubber bands should be put aside but filed into the cabinet you designate.
• Once that’s sorted start working on your desktop.
• Create piles and sort accordingly into cabinets, the only materials on your desk should be what your working on now. Anything else can be filed or thrown out. (Remember to recycle!)
This will take some time so please set aside a good 30 minutes (depending on the size of your mess). Once you’ve removed all the junk and have a sorting system stick to it! It will prevent stacking items randomly. You’ll see that a clean desk will improve your mood.
